Channing Tatum has addressed a future Gambit movie, following his surprise cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine.

The actor made a shocking appearance as X-Men mutant Gambit in the recent blockbuster. Now, Tatum has shared his hopes for a solo movie for his MCU character.

"I sure hope so," he told Variety at the premiere of his movie Blink Twice. "From your mouth to God's ears. Write it into existence, my friend. Please."

The idea of a Gambit movie isn't new, though. Tatum was already in the process of developing the standalone movie with his producing partner, Reid Carolin.

Despite spending four years on the project, plans were scrapped in 2019 when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. However, the actor has still been pushing to embody the character in the MCU.

"Of course I've said it. I've been saying I want it for the last ten years," Tatum shared. "It's in Bob Iger and Kevin Feige's hands. I pray to God."

Gambit wasn't the only cameo that featured in Deadpool & Wolverine. Fans were shocked to see The Witcher star Henry Cavill show up as a version of Wolverine, playfully called 'The Cavillerine' by Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds).

The identity of the mysterious Lady Deadpool was revealed to be Reynold's wife Blake Lively. Though her mask was never taken off, fans were able to identify the actor from her voice, and she was later featured in the credits.

Lady Deadpool was joined by a star-studded cast of Deadpool variants, including Headpool (voiced by Nathan Fillion), Cowboy Deadpool (played by Matthew McConaughey), Kidpool (played by Inez Reynolds) and Babypool (played by Olin Reynolds).

Deadpool & Wolverine is now playing in cinemas.
