Charlie Cox Says Daredevil Would Fit In With The Avengers

It looks as though Daredevil fancies teaming up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes…

During an interview with Comicbook.com, ‘Daredevil’ star Charlie Cox explained why he thinks Matt Murdock would fit in well with The Avengers on the big screen.

“Some people have said that they wonder about, based on the tone of the show, how Matt would fit in with the Avengers,“ he said. “I was reading Civil War the other day, and Matt Murdock… is kind of an ass. He’s in the back, standing around grumpy a lot of the time, and every now and again, he just says ‘Well, we’re not doing that’ or something to that effect, and I’m like, ‘That’s the character, we’re fine.’ So tonally, with Matt I think we’re right on point and he’d be a perfect fit in the larger MCU.”

Of course, Daredevil is the crown jewel of Marvel’s Netflix TV shows… but for the time being, these Hell’s Kitchen heroes have been kept very separate from the big screen universe.

Even though ‘Daredevil’ continues to rack up critical acclaim.

But could Daredevil eventually team up with The Avengers?

For the time being, Matt Murdock will be sitting on the side lines, especially when it comes to the upcoming ‘Civil War’. But that’s not to say he won’t make an appearance in Marvel’s huge event movie double-parter, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.

After all, it’s said to be the culmination of everything the MCU has built towards…

And there might even be a role for a few new heroes.

Of course, there’s also the matter of The Defenders – a superhero team which the Netflix shows are slowly building towards wth the introduction of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and now Iron Fist.

But Daredevil may need some convincing to truly commit to a team.

“Something that’s very tricky for Matt is to allow anyone to help him”, he told Entertainment Weekly. “I think at times [it’s] a belief in his own invincibility. Which is false, that he can do it all by himself, and it’s very stubborn at times, very deluded at times.”

“One of the lessons that he’s going to have to learn this season is that he needs other people, he needs help, we all need help. And hopefully, that will therefore mentally prepare him for what’s coming, which is - and I don’t know what the dynamic of the Defenders will be - but if that is going to be a team-up, then he’s going to have to learn those lessons in Season 2. Hopefully.”

‘Daredevil’ Season Two heads to Netflix on 18 March 2016.
