'Charlie's Angels' reboot hires its new angels and Elizabeth Banks as Bosley
The reboot of Charlie’s Angels is picking up speed, with the announcement that it’s founds its new angels.
Twilight star Kristen Stewart, British actress and soon to be live-action Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, and newcomer Ella Balinska, who’s also British, will form the new all-female crime-fighting squad.
It’s also been confirmed that as well as directing, Elizabeth Banks will play Bosley, played by David Doyle in the original 70s and 80s TV series.
The new movie will reportedly be set after the last reboot, which found Cameron Diaz, Lucy Lui and Drew Barrymore playing the private investigators hired by the mysterious Charlie Townsend.
The Townsend Agency will be an expanded concern with operatives and secret missions being orchestrated around the world.
It was initially rebooted in 2000, featuring a blazing theme from Destiny’s Child (Independent Women), and also starring Bill Murray and Sam Rockwell.
A sequel Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle arrive in 2003, featuring a host of A-list cameos from the likes of Bruce Willis, Shia LaBeouf, Carrie Fisher, John Cleese, Pink, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Wilson and Matt LeBlanc.
Sadly, the franchise didn’t make it to a third movie.
This new reboot will arrive in September, 2019, having been pushed back from a planned June debut.
