The new movie will reportedly be set after the last reboot, which found Cameron Diaz, Lucy Lui and Drew Barrymore playing the private investigators hired by the mysterious Charlie Townsend.
The Townsend Agency will be an expanded concern with operatives and secret missions being orchestrated around the world.
It was initially rebooted in 2000, featuring a blazing theme from Destiny’s Child (Independent Women), and also starring Bill Murray and Sam Rockwell.
A sequel Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle arrive in 2003, featuring a host of A-list cameos from the likes of Bruce Willis, Shia LaBeouf, Carrie Fisher, John Cleese, Pink, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Wilson and Matt LeBlanc.
Sadly, the franchise didn’t make it to a third movie.
