Chris Pratt's new movie skipping cinemas for Amazon release in July

Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt's new movie is skipping cinemas for a release on Amazon Prime Video this summer.

Amazon Studios has confirmed it has picked up worldwide rights to Skydance Media's The Tomorrow War, directed by Chris McKay and starring Pratt – who also executive produced the movie – in the lead role.

The Tomorrow War will launch exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories on July 2.
