Chrissy Teigen has defended the Duchess of Sussex after the royal received criticism over her essay about having a miscarriage.

Meghan shared how she and Prince Harry are grieving over their unborn second child, who they lost in July this year, in a moving first-person piece in the New York Times.

Titled ‘The Losses We Share’, Meghan spoke of the “unbearable grief” they are currently suffering.

In a now-deleted tweet, Teigen defended Meghan by calling out a Twitter user who'd decided to troll the Duchess of Sussex. The model and presenter faced similar public criticism after sharing her own experience of losing an unborn child earlier this year, through a series of intimate black and white photos taken in the hospital.

One user defended the trolls on Twitter by questioning Meghan’s decision to write an essay: “Is anyone really questioning the pain and sheer awfulness of suffering a miscarriage, or are they perhaps criticising Meghan’s decision to write a 1,000 word op-ed about herself?”

They continued: “What does it add to the resources already available for those who go through a tragedy like this?”

Teigen originally replied: "Award for today’s absolute piece of sh*t goes to [name of user]. Congratulations piece of sh*it.”

The model then deleted the tweet and posted: “Sorry forgot I’m trying to be nicer lol.”

At the time of the loss of her baby Jack, Teigen shared with her followers that she and her husband John Legend experienced the “deep pain” you only hear of.
