Yahoo Movies Cillian Murphy's son Aran lands new movie role alongside Jenna Ortega
Cillian Murphy's teenage son Aran will appear opposite Jenna Ortega in a new movie.
Deadline reports that he'll play the character Rick in director Taika Waititi's adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's dystopian 2021 novel Klara and the Sun, following his feature film debut in 2022's LOLA.
Mia Tharia, whose only professional credit up to now came in the BBC series Phoenix Rise, has also joined a cast that already features Wednesday actress Ortega and Arrival's Amy Adams.

Adapted by Mad Men screenwriter Dahvi Waller, the story centres on 'artificial friend' Klara, an android purchased by a mother for her sick daughter Josie.
"This is the story of Klara's quest to save Josie and those who love her from heartbreak and how in the process Klara learns the power of human love," adds the synopsis.
Previous Ishiguro adaptations include the clone drama Never Let Me Go and The Remains of the Day, starring Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson. US network FX cancelled a planned serial adaptation of the former this time last year.

This all comes as Aran's famous father sits on an Oscar nomination for his work on Christopher Nolan's World War II hit Oppenheimer.
Speaking to the aforementioned publication about this honour, Murphy shared: "I feel really privileged and I feel really lucky to be in a film that's connected with people in the way that it has critically and commercially.
"I'm 48 and I've seen a lot and been doing it for 28 years now, so I think I can understand how significant it is to me and how meaningful it is to me and to other people. You know, it's been a long time in the business. I think as a youngster it just didn't seem a possibility, anything like this."
Klara and the Sun is yet to receive a release window.
