Presenter and Strictly Come Dancing star Clara Amfo has been recreated as a Barbie doll for International Women's Day.

Clara has been named as a Barbie role model, to recognise and honour her speaking out against racial injustice, and being an inspiration to so many.

Last year, Clara gave a powerful - and crucial - speech on her Radio 1 show following the death of George Floyd in the US, and urged people to speak up about racism.

"This figure is who I wanted growing up, she is who I know will make another child feel good about themselves and their potential and their right to thrive in any space despite being told otherwise," Clara says.

"I have been lucky enough to experience some really special moments in my professional life and to say that I am honoured to be named a Barbie role model would be an understatement.

"There is so much power in being able to see yourself reflected positively in the world as an adult and it’s even more potent as a child. ‘That power and the confidence that comes with it should only be protected and amplified.

"For me, having this doll represents the infinite possibility that I believe we all have a right to and my only wish it that it will do the same for anyone who sees her."

As part of her work as a Barbie role model, she's also working with Milk Honey Bees in London, a community project which encourages and supports young black girls. You can find out more information about Milk Honey Bees here.
