First Collateral Beauty Image Shows Will Smith’s Latest Bid For Oscar Glory

Will Smith really wants an Oscar. Having already bagged two nominations for his roles in ‘Ali’ and ‘The Pursuit Of Happiness’, Smith’s attempt to land the elusive gong will come later this year with the release of ‘Collateral Beauty’.

We’ve now got our first look at Will Smith in the surreal drama, which will see the former ‘Fresh Prince’ leading an all-star cast that includes Kate Winslet, Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren, Edward Norton, Naomie Harris, and Michael Pena.

In ’Collateral Beauty’ Will Smith plays Howard Inlet, a New York advertising executive who after a tragedy goes into a downward spiral. Other than that, though, we don’t know anything else about the film, and that’s exactly the way that everyone involved intends to keep it.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, all that Smith would say about ‘Collateral Beauty’ is, “It’s a little bit ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ and a little ‘The Wizard Of Oz’.”

Adding a little bit more, Smith continued, “It’s the process of Howard putting his life back together, but there’s also some interesting mystical elements,” before the actor then confessed, “It’s delicately framed in a way that’s going to be tough to promote.”

Everyone involved in ‘Collateral Beauty’ will be hoping that this will prove to be the ultimately allure for viewers to check it out once it finally hits cinemas in the US on December 16.

And it will need all the help it can get, as it will be going up against the seldom discussed ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’.

‘Collateral Beauty’ will be released in the UK on December 30.
