Colleen Hoover's Regretting You getting movie adaptation after It Ends With Us success
Another Colleen Hoover novel is set for a big-screen adaptation, following the success of It Ends With Us.
According to Deadline, the author's 2019 novel Regretting You is being made into a movie starring Ghostbusters and The Handmaid's Tale's Mckenna Grace and Girls actor Allison Williams.
The film will explore a strained mother-daughter relationship, with Williams playing Grace's mum.

"Morgan Grant is determined to prevent her 16-year-old daughter Clara from making the same mistakes she did," reads the book synopsis. "By getting pregnant and married way too young, Morgan put her own dreams on hold.
"Clara doesn’t want to follow in her mother’s footsteps. With warring personalities and conflicting goals, Morgan and Clara find it increasingly difficult to coexist. The only person who can bring peace to the household is Chris – Morgan’s husband, Clara’s father, and the family anchor.
"But that peace is shattered when Chris is involved in a tragic and questionable accident."

The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone has signed on to direct Regretting You, with the screenplay being adapted by Susan McMartin.
The movie announcement comes fresh off the success of It Ends With Us – also written by Hoover – which made an impressive box-office debut over the weekend.
Starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, the movie has already raked in $50 million in the US, which is double the film's $25 million budget.
The film currently holds a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 59%, but has been better received by moviegoers with an audience score of 94% at the time of writing.
It Ends With Us is in cinemas now.
