On Saturday, comedian Rohan Joshi, who was a part of the now-defunct All India Bakchod (AIB), took to Instagram and derided 'Bhakts' — supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi — for the deaths of their family members due to raging coronavirus.
He also used the ongoing construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya to revile Hindus who have voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
"To all bhakts who have lost their loved ones during this crisis, be strong. Your dad and Akshay Kumar are building you a lovely temple where you can go and pray for their departed souls," he wrote.
"I have nothing but contempt for them and not a shred of sympathy. F**k the high road," he added.
His highly insensitive, crass and disgusting posts in the midst of a deadly pandemic elicited stinging criticism from netizens.
It also exposes the depravity of minds of some self-styled liberals who mock deaths of people just because they are of different ideological orientation.
AIB shut its shop in May 2019 after its founder members faced sexual harassment allegations.
