Conan Gives Emotional Farewell to David Letterman (VIDEO)

Conan O’Brien devoted much of his monologue to outgoing host David Letterman, who signed off from CBS’ “Late Show” for the last time on Wednesday night. Calling Letterman “the north star” of latenight television, an emotional O’Brien told the story of how Letterman saved his career in the 1990s by coming on his program when he was “getting the sh– kicked out of me” in his first year as latenight host on NBC.

“It was like The Beatles asking Maury Povich if they could stop by and sing a couple of tunes,” he joked.
