Perhaps the two most interesting Marvel Studios’ films on the horizon – more so than ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2’ or even ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ – are ‘Thor Ragnarok’ and ‘Black Panther’.

There haven’t been any trailers for the two films, set for release in October and February 2018 respectively but new concept art has offered a fresh look at what to expect.

The concept art appears in the extras of ‘Doctor Strange’s upcoming Blu-Ray release and give fans a look at The Hulk taking on Thor in gladiatorial combat and a look at Black Panther’s homeland of Wakanda.

Wakanda looks particularly jaw-dropping, adding a great visual style to the lengthy list of reasons to be excited for ‘Creed’ director Ryan Coogler’s superhero adventure.

The pictures include an ancient temple, and what appears to be a vibranium (the rare fictional metal that Captain America’s shield is made out of) mine and a Wakandan high council area.

It’s been no secret that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) will clash in Taika Waititi’s sure-to-be-barmy sequel, but to see them in action – even in a drawing (via Latino Review) – just makes us more excited to see them in action.

‘Ragnarok’ will be released first on 27 October 2017. It stars Hemsworth, Ruffalo and returning stars Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins as well as newcomers Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban.

Benedict Cumberbatch will also be appearing as Doctor Strange.

The film’s official synopsis reads: “Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela (Blanchett).

“But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – The Incredible Hulk!”

Aside from the cast, the real reason to be excited is writer/director Waititi, who recently won acclaim for comedies ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ and ‘Hunt For The Wilderpeople’.

‘Black Panther’ is set for release on 9 February 2018, and stars Chadwick Boseman as the title character, opposite an incredible cast including: Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Michael B Jordan, Angela Bassett and Andy Serkis.

The synopsis reads: “‘Black Panther’ follows T’Challa who, after the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.”
