Hollie Arnold has become the first contestant to be eliminated from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The Paralympian was booted off the ITV show on Friday night after a public vote.

Arnold, 26, said she was “devastated” to be out.

“But one of us has to go right?” she said to hosts Ant and Dec in a chat in the Gwrych Castle studio.

“That was the best experience I have ever had. I didn’t want to leave.”

Arnold was in tears as a tape of her camp highlights played, and she said she had bonded with the other contestants and would miss them.

“I love everybody in there,” she said. “I will never ever forget this experience.”

The campers were told earlier in the show that one person would be leaving the competition that night.

The contestants all said they would be sad to go their separate ways and that real bonds had been formed during their time in the Welsh castle.

EastEnders star Shane Richie said: “You get to that point in your life around your 50s where you think, ‘I’ve got all the friends I need’ but since I’ve come here I genuinely think each and every one of you I could phone and just go ‘phooo’ and put the phone down.”

“We meet as strangers and leave as besties,” he said.

Author Giovanna Fletcher said she had “made friends for life” and TV presenter Vernon Kay said the celebrities were “the perfect jigsaw of personalities”.

Soap star Beverley Callard added: “I’ve been in Coronation Street for 31 years and I truly have never worked or been with such a bunch of wonderful people as this, I’m proud to have you as friends.”

Journalist Victoria Derbyshire was in tears at the prospect of one camper waving goodbye.

“Life is so short and I came in here because I wanted a once in a lifetime experience,” she said.

“Honestly, I’ve adored observing us all essentially falling in love with each other. Thank you so much, I’ll never ever forget this my whole life.”

The contestants then all clapped as they shouted in unison: “All for one and one for all!”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow on ITV.
