Despite the recent animosity between them, Tyrone admits to Fiz that he doesn't know who else to talk to about his traumatic history with Kirsty.

Explaining the circumstances of Kirsty's death, Tyrone tells Fiz: "She was found in her flat by a neighbour. They called the police.

"They'd been trying to get in touch with me for a while. She had an aneurysm."

Tyrone adds that, since Kirsty's mum is dead and nobody can find her dad, he was traced instead. The local authority now wants Tyrone to put Kirsty's affairs in order.

Fiz asks: "Do they know what she did to you? That should not be your responsibility."

Tyrone points out: "There's nobody else to do it."

Tyrone and Fiz then have to put their differences aside as they discuss how best to tell their daughter Ruby that her biological mum has passed away.

Kirsty's time on the cobbles saw the show explore a domestic violence storyline, whereby she repeatedly abused Tyrone with violent outbursts throughout their relationship.

The plot came to an end in 2013 when Kirsty confessed to her crimes and was sent to prison, but she was released from jail the following year.

Coronation Street airs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week on ITV. All episodes are available to watch now on the ITV Hub.
