Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has revealed that she recently underwent a minor operation.

The Michelle Connor actress, who is soon to be leaving the ITV soap after more than a decade, didn't say what the procedure was for, but is now recovering at home and beginning to feel "much better".

In her OK! Magazine column, Kym, 43, wrote that doctors have advised her she's "not allowed" to exercise for three weeks, joking: "That'll kill me!"

"I was in and out in a day but Emilie still popped by the hospital with Teddy to cheer me up," she added, referring to her daughter Emilie Cunliffe, 22, and her 4-month-old grandson.

"It was lovely, he's such a smiley boy!"

Kym revealed that her son David Cunliffe and daughter Polly are also helping her to make a speedy recovery.

"David, Emilie and her boyfriend Mikey are looking after me and even Polly is doing her bit asking, 'Mummy, can I get you something? Can I make you some toast?' She's so sweet," she wrote.

Kym also mentioned in her column whether or not she would go on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! ahead of her exit from Corrie.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
