Coronation Street has revealed relationship trouble for Asha Alahan and Nina Lucas, after the latter has expressed her concerns over one of Asha's friends...
The long-running ITV soap previously teased a rocky road for Asha and Nina, and that tease has come to fruition, with Asha telling her girlfriend that she's meeting up with a friend from university – on the same day that the couple had previously planned to spend together.
Upcoming scenes will see Asha tell Nina that she's planning on spending the day with Isla to go through coursework. They also make plans to have dinner together.
Nina's jealousy comes to a head when Asha also speaks to Amy about an anti-spiking demonstration that Asha's planning on attending with Isla. The reason Nina erupt is because Asha had never mentioned it to her...
Nina then admits to Asha that she's jealous of her relationship with her friend, Isla. Asha, however, reassures her girlfriend that there's nothing to worry about.
Is she telling the truth? Or is Isla someone that Nina should keep her eye on moving forward?
This tension is despite a previous interview with Tanisha Gorey (Asha's actress), where she explained that she doesn't want to see any infidelity in the couple's future.
"We don’t need a cheating story," she explained to What to Watch.
"Not everyone needs to cheat in a relationship. But it’s a soap, we need the drama, we need something. But cheating should not be on the cards. Let’s hope that’s not the case."
They're not the only couple in Corrie to have cheating problems; earlier this year, Paul Foreman was unfaithful to partner.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
