'He's not well!' Coronavirus patient gives statement outside hospital... but is then dragged back inside

Footage of the moment a coronavirus patient is dragged back into a hospital by medics has been revealed.

Media attended the hospital in Georgia expecting to speak to an official, after the country confirmed its first case this week.

Instead they were greeted by the patient, reported by the Daily Mail to be an Iranian citizen, who may have coronavirus. He thanks the people of Georgia and the doctors treating him.

“This hospital is perfect,” he says in the clip.

His announcement ends with him being dragged back into the hospital by medics who tell the assembled journalists that he is not well.

Georgia was one of 20 countries to confirm their first coronavirus cases in the last week, as the virus continues to spread globally.

Cases outside China have outstripped those in the country for the first time.

Inside China a sharp decrease in infections of the disease – known as Covid-19 – have been reported by authorities.

A total of 327 new cases and 44 deaths were reported on Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 78,824, while 2,788 people have died there.

More than 3,600 infections have been reported in total outside of China.

Professor Rowland Kao, chairman of veterinary epidemiology and data science at the University of Edinburgh, said the UK can expect more cases, telling media that “despite evidence of the epidemic tailing off in China, a need for continued vigilance with appropriate control measures for some time”.

Brits have been under quarantine at the H10 Costa Adeje Palace in Tenerife, with some of the guests allowed to leave after they were put in lockdown after people staying there were diagnosed with the illness.
