Yahoo Movies Corrie showdown as Steph Britton confronts Phelan
Coronation Street supervillain Pat Phelan has a new enemy to worry about next week, as Steph Britton returns to the cobbles.
Phelan (Connor McIntyre) clashes with Steph when she arrives back to attend the funeral of her brother Luke, who was killed by the evil builder earlier this month.
Before Steph left the country last year, she grew to realise just how nasty Phelan could be when he started blackmailing her boyfriend Andy Carver. (If only she knew what happened to Andy next!)
With that old animosity far from resolved, Steph (Tisha Merry) is furious to see Phelan attending Luke's funeral, while several other residents are also well aware that he's only there to wind everyone up.
Back in The Rovers later, Phelan continues to cause aggravation when he hears Bethany Platt and Gary Windass rowing about her lap-dancing job.
Phelan winds Gary up by suggesting they should go to watch Bethany in action, provoking a furious response as Gary slams him against the wall.
Taking the chance to air her own grievances with Phelan, a fuming Steph brands him an evil liar and reminds him of how he blackmailed Andy into burning down the garage.
Shocked by all of the Phelan-related drama that's unfolding, Tim Metcalfe packs his and Faye's bags – telling Sally that they're not safe with Phelan living over the road and will be staying at his dad's for a while.
With opposition clearly growing towards Phelan, how long before someone catches him out?
