The Rock: Running For President Is ‘Deeply Alluring’

Seems like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has eyes on the White House.

The wrestler-turned-A-list-movie star has previously said that he finds the prospect of being the commander-in-chief 'deeply alluring’.

But this new POTUS talk is all stemming from an op-ed in the Washington Post which suggests that if he ran for the highest office in the US, 'he could actually win’.

It even sets out a potential timeline, suggesting he could get on the 2024 primary ballot in Florida, and take the route that former movie star Ronald Reagan did.

Responding to the article on his Instagram page, Johnson seemed both flattered and tempted by the possibility.

“Interesting piece from The Washington Post on if I ran for POTUS I could actually win,” he wrote.

“Writer Alyssa Rosenberg did some pretty good research into my background (slave descendants fighting for their freedom, Revolutionary War etc). Much more to uncover but well done.

“I care DEEPLY about our county… and the idea of one day becoming President to create real positive impact and global change is very alluring.

“Buuuuut until that possible day, the most important thing right now is strong honest leadership from our current and future leaders of this country. Thanks again Washington Post.”

He’s previously hinted at such thoughts in the past too.

He told GQ earlier this month: “I’ll be honest, I haven’t ruled politics out. I’m not being coy when I say that, but at the moment I am not sure.”

But he added that there 'are a lot of other things I want to do first’.

Presumably that will be ensuring the success of the new 'Baywatch’ movie.
