Yahoo Movies COVID-19: Singapore confirms three new cases, all imported
SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed three new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of noon on Friday (4 December), taking the country’s total to 58,242.
All the new cases are imported, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. Two of them are asymptomatic, and one is symptomatic.
There are no new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection today.
In the past week, there are four new cases in the community, all of which are currently unlinked.
Amongst the three imported cases, one is a Singaporean and another is a Singapore permanent resident who both returned from India. They were tested while serving SHN.
The remaining case is a short-term visit pass holder from India who is here to seek medical treatment for an existing condition unrelated to COVID-19. He was conveyed to the hospital upon arrival in Singapore and isolated.
99% of total cases have recovered; none in ICU
With seven more patients discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities on Friday, 58,152 cases – or 99.8 per cent of the total – have fully recovered from the infection.
Most of the 28 hospitalised cases are stable or improving, and none are in the intensive care unit.
A total of 33 patients – with mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive – are isolated and cared for at community facilities.
Apart from 29 patients who have died from COVID-19 complications, 15 others who tested positive for the virus were determined to have died from unrelated causes, including three whose deaths were attributed to a heart attack and another four, whose deaths were attributed to coronary heart disease.
