The Creator stars John David Washington as Joshua, a grieving ex-special forces agent tasked with hunting down an advanced AI known as "The Creator", which has the power to end the war between robots and man.

The film received rave reviews upon its release, with some critics praising it as the "best film of the year".

Digital Spy described The Creator as the most "stunning sci-fi epic in years", adding: "Gareth Edwards channels today's big fears about AI technology while delivering an extremely ambitious sci-fi movie that dares to redefine Hollywood's modern blockbuster on a glorious scale."

Alongside Washington, The Creator also stars The Eternals' Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Mom's Allison Janney and newcomer Madeleine Yuna Voyles.

Those watching The Creator at home should keep their eyes peeled for the Star Wars Easter egg that Edwards hid in the film. He directed Rogue One, and the Star Wars franchise was a major influence on The Creator.

Speaking to The Direct back in October, VFX supervisors Jay Cooper and Andrew Roberts revealed that a Star Wars character appears in the movie.

"We have an Easter egg of K-2SO in the movie as well," Cooper said.

"But you know, you're going to have to find that one on your own… It's in there. I can circle it if I'm given the chance."

The Creator will land on Disney+ on January 17 in the UK.
