Cringe Through This Awesomely Awkward Cara Delevingne Interview

The sunny disposition of the US breakfast TV host has clashed violently with the junket-weary actress, resulting in this most awkward interview with model/actress Cara Delevingne.

Delevingne was appearing on ‘Good Day Sacramento’ promoting new movie 'Paper Towns’, which appeared to mean something of an early start for the star following the film’s premiere the night before.

As such, the 22-year-old’s sarcasm threshold was heightened to host-baiting levels.

Things started badly with presenter Marianne McClary mis-naming her Carla, and they quickly went downhill from there.

Asked if she’d read the book by John Green that the film is based on, she sharply replied: “No I never read the book, or the script. I kind of winged it.”

Ouch. Now that’s a spiky retort.

The barbed remarks flowed like bad party wine from then on, a clearly irked Delevingne, those famous eye brows set firmly to 'perplexed’, batting back the standard questions.

Asked if her busy schedule made it easier to focus on projects, she scoffed: “No, I don’t know where that comes from. No.”

Then asked if she had anything in common with her character Margo, she said: “No, I actually hate her.”

It was at this point that the now weary presenters fought back, suggesting that she had been more excited about the film in other interviews, and seemed somewhat fatigued.

“The premiere was last night. It was a very emotional night, felt like the end of an era,” she said.

“But I’m not any less excited than I was a couple of weeks ago.”

The damage had already been done, however.

Eventually, the interview was cut short, the actress being advised to 'take a little nap, maybe get a Red Bull’ (other energy drinks are available).

After the interview feed was snipped, presenter McClary said: “Wow! She was in a mood! Jeez Louise, everything sarcastic. I think she was just a little irritated.”

You might be on to something there….
