Crowd fund launched for 'Battlestar Galactica' actor Michael Hogan after brain injury
A crowd fund appeal has been launched to raise money for the Battlestar Galactica actor Michael Hogan, who has suffered a brain injury.
Hogan, who played Colonel Saul Tigh on the revived sci-fi series, fell and hit his head in an accident in February this year, after attending a sci-fi convention event.
He then suffered bleeding on his brain, which required emergency surgery and has left him with lasting medical issues.

Immediately after the accident, he suffered paralysis and cognitive impairment, and due to the pandemic, his recovery was significantly affected.
Though he is now able to speak again, he is still in need of extensive therapy and remains in a care facility in Vancouver.
The fund has been set up by singer, actress and family friend Shari Ulrich, who wrote: “Michael still cannot stand and needs an overhead lift to be moved from the bed to the wheelchair.
“He still requires a feeding tube into his stomach. He has regained his speech and is largely coherent and cognizant but there is a long long road ahead.

“Though it is hard to imagine, I think it’s fair to say it is unlikely Michael will be able to work again.”
At the time of writing, the fund has raised more than $130,000 for his recovery and to help his wife Susan with adapting their home so that he can return.
Tricia Helfer, who played Number Six in Battlestar Galactica, is among those appealing to fans of the show for help.
“Our amazing XO has been fighting for months now,” she tweeted. “Michael Hogan is one of the dearest, funniest, most talented men I know, and is going through an incredibly challenging time. Here’s where we all can help him and his family.”
