The Fire TV platform offers easy access to all the leading streaming services, including Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+, as well as a full range of catch-up TV players.

Just like a standalone Amazon Fire TV stick, this JVC TV works with Alexa voice commands, so there’s no need to wrestle with menus and buttons, just ask for a channel or app.

You really need to be an Amazon Prime subscriber to make full use of all these features, but even if you’re not you’ll still have access to the likes of Netflix and YouTube.
Why we love it
The 55-inch screen may be sized for movies, but the set won’t dominate your room. Thanks to a fashionably slim bezel, it’s just 1243mm wide. It also sits on a neat central pedestal, which should fit most AV furniture.
If you’re upgrading from an older TV, you’ll appreciate the picture improvements offered here. The LT-55CF890 is a 4K resolution model, which means it has four times the pixel density of a regular HD TV, giving sharper, smoother pictures.
It’s also HDR enabled, for greater picture realism with more dynamic bright highlights. The set supports regular HDR as well as the more advanced Dolby Vision system - ideal for 4k Dolby Vision shows on Disney+ and Netflix.
