Cursed Child DOMINATES the Olivier Awards
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has worked its magic and conjured up a whopping NINE Olivier Awards tonight (April 9).
The play has now overtaken Matilda the Musical and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time – both of which had seven wins each – to be the most celebrated in the history of the awards.
The play by Jack Thorne won big in all the main categories, including Best New Play and Best Director for John Tiffany.
Acting awards went to Jamie Parker who won Best Actor for playing the title character and Best Actress in a Supporting Role was awarded to Hermione Granger herself, Noma Dumezweni.
Anthony Boyle won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role gong for his portrayal of Scorpius Malfoy.

And that's not all, the play went on to dominate the creative awards too with set design, costume, lighting and sound all being recognised on the night.
Elsewhere, Dreamgirls walked away with two awards – one for Adam J Bernard who nabbed the Best Supporting Actor in a Musical, and Amber Riley was voted Best Actress in a Musical.
School of Rock went home with a very well-deserved Outstanding Achievement in Music gong.
The Young Vic's production of Yerma took home two awards, including Best Revival of a Play and Best Actress – the latter of which being won by Doctor Who star Billie Piper.
The ceremony was hosted by Jason Manford and will be broadcast on ITV on Tuesday (April 11) at 8pm.
