The 72-year-old breakout star has two granddaughters, 21-year-old Payton and 16-year-old Charlee, and has shared a look into their lives together

Gerry Turner's family is about to get a little bigger, but the Golden Bachelor star is already spoiled with love: he's a girl-dad and a girl-granddad. The reality star and his late wife Toni had two daughters together, Angie Warner and Jenny Young. Jenny has two daughters of her own, Charlee, 16, and Payton, 21.

Since Turner embarked on his televised journey to find love again, he's been backed by generations of support at home. Over the past few months, fans have gotten to hear about his close relationship with his young granddaughters and how they've helped him step into the Bachelor franchise.

All Together Now

While Turner's two younger generations have stayed largely out of the public eye, they've supported him throughout his foray into Bachelor nation.

Turner told Variety that his daughters and granddaughters were “genuinely excited and thrilled” about his new role as the Golden Bachelor. “My granddaughters have had guests to my house since this all started, and they pick their friends that are big fans of the show,” he said.

Support System

In a promo clip released before the Golden Bachelor premiere, Turner got some modern dating tips from his younger granddaughter. Charlee offered her tech-savvy advice on all things communication.

“I think it starts with your texting,” Charlee notes in the clip. “You need to upgrade, don’t start with 'dear [her name]'."

Fun for Everyone

During his appearance on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast with Joe Amiable and Serena Pitt, Turner explained how his granddaughters keep him updated on what fans are talking about.

"They’re very adept at finding comments and the things online. So they’re firing me stuff nonstop about things that are being said, and it’s hilarious, but they are loving it," the former restaurateur said.

On the day of his show's premiere, the Golden Bachelor himself posted a happy photo with his two daughters and older granddaughter, Payton (far left).

Biggest Fan

While Turner's life certainly looks a lot different today — between his award show appearances and A-list encounters — he's no less of a family man. In October, the senior star stopped by Charlee's volleyball game to watch her play.

Turner and the young athlete posed for a precious photo on the court, with the Charlee in full game-time uniform. "My all time favorite Vballer," he said in the caption.
