Daisy Jones & The Six star Riley Keough has landed her next lead movie role opposite Jesse Eisenberg in Sasquatch Sunset.

No specific plot details have been released for the film, but its official description reads that Sasquatch Sunset will depict “a year in the life of a singular family,” – with the addition of Eisenberg as the titular sasquatch.

The film is from directing pair David and Nathan Zellner, and will be released by Bleecker Street in 2024. According to Collider, Christophe Zajac-Denek will also star in the film, which is currently in post-production.

Eisenberg told Variety previously that his role in the film is far from his usual characters: “I play a Sasquatch: full makeup, full body hair, no lines. I grunt, but no lines... I'm so looking forward to this."

The Justice League star has recently appeared in the cult movie Manodrome, which was released in November.

The film, which also features Peaky Blinders star Adrien Brody, centres on a man called Ralphie (Eisenberg) who joins a male 'self-help group' while struggling to support his pregnant partner Sal (Odessa Young).

Riley Keough, meanwhile, played Daisy Jones in the miniseries based on Taylor Jenkins Reid's novel of the same name, on Prime Video.

Keough appeared alongside Hunger Games star Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne and Daisy Jones, the two charismatic leads of a fictional 1970s rock band – though the original novel was loosely inspired by Fleetwood Mac.

Its showrunners teased the possibility of a second season following its first season's finale.

"I think that would be amazing," Scott Neustadter told Variety. "If people are interested in this story and these people, maybe we’ll get an opportunity to do that. Leave the door open. Why not? If people enjoy what you’re doing and want more of it, that’s not a bad problem."

Will Graham added: "We had the most amazing time making the show. For me, that question goes back to [author] Taylor [Jenkins Reid] and if she has another chapter for these characters in her head.

"If we got an opportunity to do it, I think, no question, everyone involved in the show would show up with bells on."

Daisy Jones & The Six is available to watch on Prime Video.
