Daisy Ridley's London-set thriller confirms UK release
Daisy Ridley's London-set thriller Cleaner finally has a UK release date.
Directed by Martin Campbell, the film sees "a group of radical activists who take over an energy company's annual gala, seizing 300 hostages in order to expose the corruption of the hosts" (per Deadline).
The synopsis continues: "Their just cause is hijacked by a zealous extremist within their ranks, who is ready to murder everyone in the building to send his anarchic message to the world."
It's left to Ridley's character, an ex-soldier turned window cleaner, to save the day in the action-packed film, also starring Clive Owen and Taz Skylar.

And eager viewers won't have too long to wait for Cleaner to hit their screens, with its UK and Ireland release confirmed for early 2025 via Sky Cinema.
Julia Stuart, Sky Original Film’s director of original film (via Screen Daily): "Cleaner is a best-of-British gripping thriller that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
"Following our partnership with the top-class team at Anton on Fuze – it’s fantastic to have this female-driven, nail-biting action package with the formidable Daisy Ridley in the lead."
It's not the only film the Star Wars actor will appear in in the coming months, as the first trailer for Ridley's upcoming film Magpie was released this week.

Directed by Sam Yates, the synopsis reads: "Magpie is a stylish neo-noir thriller centred on married couple Anette (Ridley) and Ben (Shazad Latif), whose lives begin to fracture when their daughter is cast alongside a glamorous movie star, Alicia (Matilda Lutz).
"As Anette’s suspicions of Ben’s infatuation with Alicia intensify, their secrets and lies threaten to burst to the surface and destroy them all."
It will be released in US cinemas on October 25 but is yet to receive a UK release date.
Ridley last hit our screens in the acclaimed Young Woman and the Sea in which she starred as Olympic swimmer Gertrude Ederle.
Cleaner will be released in early 2025 via Sky Cinema.
