Dame Mary Berry has shut down Oti Mabuse's calls for her to do 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The much-loved baker and the 'Dancing on Ice' judge have joined forces for a BBC One festive special called 'Mary Makes Christmas', and as Oti noticed Mary was “light on her feet” when moving around the kitchen, she teased the 89-year-old legend about swapping the apron for her dancing shoes.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the 34-year-old star said to Mary: "I think you will be good.”

However, Mary fired back: “You should see me on the dance floor, I am not a good mover. No. Don’t talk about it.”

The former 'Strictly' professional dancer - who has just flown back from Australia after taking part in ITV1's 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' - admitted that neither she nor her husband Marius Iepure enjoy cooking at home.

Even though living in a jungle surrounded by other celebrities is in the past, Oti has not escaped eating only rice.

She told Mary: "He will make you rice with ketchup for dinner. That’s it! We have so many cookbooks. None are used.

"I would say it is more functional cooking. I haven’t got to a stage yet where I’m going ‘I’m enjoying this’."

Oti, Marius and their 13-month-old daughter are jetting out to South Africa for Christmas to be with her family.

When the former 'Great British Bake Off' judge asked if she would be making a traditional turkey dinner, Oti was quick to add: "Please don’t cancel me, Dame Mary Berry!

"We usually book somewhere because no one wants to cook over Christmas.

"But a lot of families do this in South Africa. It’s outside and it’s a picnic and the sun will be shining."

'Mary Makes Christmas' airs on Christmas Day on BBC One at 8pm.
