Dancing On Ice: Bonnie Langford Skates Out Of The Competition

It’s been an action packed night on Dancing On Ice, with exciting Duels and some amazing self-choreographed routines. Sadly though, it all came down to the dreaded skate-off, where we said goodbye to legendary entertainer Bonnie Langford.

After a quick evening recap, we found out that it would be Sam Attwater and Bonnie Langford who would be facing the skate-off, after losing against Suzanne Shaw and Beth Tweddle in the public vote.

Before they took to the ice for possibly the last time, both showed just how much the competition meant to them, with Sam saying “I do want to stay in. I’m going to skate my heart out. I’ve loved every minute of it”, whilst Bonnie “couldn’t think of anything better to round off the experience.”

And skate their hearts out they did. Sam opted for a love-filled skate to Jamie Cullum’s ‘Don’t Stop the Music,’ followed by Bonnie’s super show-business skate to ‘Big Spender.’

Sadly for the judges, the difficult decision was down to them. Karen started the vote and opted to save Sam, but not before adding “we’ve had an amazing evening, thank you to both couples. Bonnie, you skated the best you’ve ever skated.”

Ashley also saved Sam, telling Bonnie “you killed it this afternoon, but you fell short in the skate-off.” Jason agreed, saying that “the skate-off for me is an opportunity to redeem yourself,” which Bonnie unfortunately didn’t do.

Robin rounded off Sam’s clean sweep, giving Bonnie a boost by adding that “you’re going out having given the best performance of your life and the performance of the night earlier.”

Thankfully, Bonnie wasn’t too disheartened, finishing her time on the competition by saying “I wanted to be back for the celebration. All the other skates are wonderful. I’ve really loved this evening.”

We’ll certainly be sad to see Bonnie go! Do you agree with the result? Let us know!
