It’s widely assumed that Daniel Craig will quit the James Bond series, which speculation already rife as to who his successor might be.

But the boss of the company making Daniel Craig’s new TV show, ‘Purity’, thinks the British actor could return to the series.

According to Deadline, Showtime CEO David Nevins said Craig signing up to the 20-episode TV season will not stop him playing 007 again.

“It depends when they do the next James Bond movie, but I don’t think it precludes him is the answer,” said Nevins.

“This will largely be completed during the course of 2017, depending how long they’re willing to wait and shoot the next Bond. There might be some breaks somewhere, but [production] will be fairly continuous.”

‘Purity’ is based on the book of the same name by Jonathan Franzen and tells a series of interconnected modern-day stories.

Currently Poldark star Aidan Turner is 7/4 in the betting to be the next Bond, but he might have to wait longer than we all think to play the British spy.
