Daniel Radcliffe has spoken a lot about his love for weird projects following the Harry Potter series, and he's taken that to its literal peak with his role as Weird Al Yankovic for biopic WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story.
We've had a decent glimpse at how the actor has transformed into the parody song and polka medley-making legend already, but now we're going to be getting our best look at him to date in the film's official trailer, which gently ribs on the tropes of these kinds of films.
In it, we see Radcliffe's Al have his 'musical biopic moment' where the genesis for his breakout song arrives: staring at a packet of bologna while 'My Sharona' plays on the radio.
He also goes through the trademark rock-star-rough-patch these films also love to focus on, only this time his dalliances in sex, drink and drugs is apparently all Madonna's (Evan Rachel Wood) fault.
Rainn 'Dwight from The Office' Wilson also stars as Dr Demento, the man who discovers Yankovic and gives him his name. You may also notice that the actual Yankovic makes an appearance too, as a record label executive by the looks of it.
Speaking earlier this year about playing Yankovic, Radcliffe said: "Wearing the Hawaiian shirt is a huge responsibility that I don't take lightly.
"And I'm honoured to finally share with the world the absolutely 100 percent unassailably true story of Weird Al's depraved and scandalous life."
"When my last movie UHF came out in 1989, I made a solemn vow to my fans that I would release a major motion picture every 33 years, like clockwork. I'm very happy to say we're on schedule," Yankovic himself said about the project.
"And I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for."
