‘Trainspotting 2′ looks like it’s getting more and more likely, according to director Danny Boyle.

While appearing at the Telluride Film Festival over the weekend, where he was unveiling his ‘Steve Jobs’ biopic, he said that he’s planning for it to be his next movie.

“All the four main actors want to come back and do it,” he told Deadline.

“Now it is only a matter of getting all their schedules together which is complicated by two of them doing American TV series.”

Indeed, Johnny Lee Miller is currently embroiled in the US answer to ‘Sherlock’, 'Elementary’, while Carlyle plays Mr Gold in fairytale drama 'Once Upon A Time’ for ABC.

Miller played Sick Boy in the original movie, while Carlyle was the psychotic Begbie, alongside Ewan McGregor’s Renton and Ewan Bremner’s hapless Spud.

John Hodge, who adapted Irvine Welsh’s award-winning book for the first movie, has already penned a script for the sequel, which Boyle described as 'terrific’, having been adapted from Welsh’s follow-up novel, 'Porno’.

The first movie was an international smash on its release in 1996.

Made in Edinburgh for a little over £1.5 million, it went on to gross £48 million, catapulting Boyle and its stars to fame.

The film’s soundtrack also became iconic, featuring tracks from Iggy Pop, Primal Scream, New Order, Lou Reed and Underworld.
