Daredevil: First Look At Kingpin in Marvel Netflix Series
A superhero is only as good as his villains, so a lot of the success of Netflix’s upcoming ‘Daredevil’ series hinges on Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin.
Until now we had only seen the crime lord from behind cutting an imposing figure reminiscent (but not as gargantuan) as his comic book inspiration. Now we can see his face for the first time in a couple of new images from the series.

These come courtesy of USA Today, who also spoke to D’Onofrio and executive producer Steven DeKnight about the character and his importance to the series.
"I wanted him to have an appearance of being super-powerful so that when he throws a punch, it’s a major punch," said D’Onofrio. "There’s a lot of weight behind it."
But despite the power Kingpin exudes, the actor also wanted him to have a different side to him. “I just brought in this kind of character who in one sentence could easily go from being a child to a monster, depending on where his emotions take him,” said D’Onofrio.
According to the article ‘Daredevil’ will be every bit about its antagonist as its protagonist, and both will share the same goal of cleaning up the streets of New York’s Hells Kitchen - it’s just the methodology they disagree about.
Talking about 55-year-old D’Onofrio, DeKnight said: “He had a passion and an understanding of what we were trying to do, of making it a very grounded, gritty, realistic show. Here is an actor who’s really thinking about it on not only a character depth but a visual depth that I really loved.”
'Daredevil's 13 episodes will be available to stream through Netflix on 10 April.
