The new ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ trailer is here.

After a new trailer debuted at Star Wars Celebration Europe, select fans were given a brief glimpse of the iconic ‘Star Wars’ villain back in his ominous black suit… and now that same teasery glimpse has been unveiled to the world.

But not before a rather cool look at what else is in store in ‘Rogue One’.

“A major weapons test is imminent,” explains Rebel Alliance leader, Mon Mothma as she tries to get Jyn Erso on board. “We need to know how to destroy it.”

That’s the entire setup for ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ in a nutshell – a rag-tag band of soldiers and mercenaries are sent off to recover the plans to the original Death Star. But now we’re starting to get a glimpse of their perilous journey…

And as they take on TIE Fighters and one of the new AT-ACT’s, it looks like one hell of a mission.

Of course, it’s not just old ‘Star Wars’ favourites returning to the big screen – we’ve got a cool new look at some of ‘Rogue One’s newcomers, too. And one of the most impressive scenes shows Chirrut Îmwe (played by Donnie Yen) taking on a group of Stormtroopers with just his trusty staff.

Did we mention he’s blind, too?

“The world is coming undone,” says Saw Gerrera (played by Forest Whitaker). “Imperial flags reign across the galaxy.”

Thankfully, the Rebels are there to stand up to them.

‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen, Wen Jiang and Forest Whitaker.

James Earl Jones returns to voice the iconic villain, Darth Vader.

‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ heads to cinemas on 16 December 2016.
