Dave Bautista REALLY Wants To Team Up With The Avengers

Drax the Destroyer may be a man of few words, but he’s pretty hyped about The Avengers.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star Dave Bautista – who plays the tattooed warrior Draw – isn’t shy when it comes to his love for The Avengers… and admits he’d love to team up with them on the big screen.

“Yeah, come on, man,” he said. “Hell yeah. Yeah, of course I would. At the core of me is the biggest geek you’ve ever met. I’m a superhero fan first and foremost, and…of course, man, I want that to happen.”

Of course, with Marvel’s big screen plans leading towards ‘Infinity War’, it’s certainly possible that we’ll see both The Avengers and The Guardians taking on the mad titan, Thanos.

But while ‘Guardians’ director James Gunn is a little hesitant to merge those franchises, it seems that Drax himself isn’t quite so worried.

“It’s rumors right now,” he said. “But, you know, I pray every day…and night, and afternoon, and after you walk out the door I’ll go pray and say, ‘Please let Drax be in The Avengers’,” he laughed. “Yeah, I hope it’ll happen.”

Although ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ proved to be a huge hit, it’s easy to see why Bautista would want to team up with The Avengers. After all, they’re the heavy-hitters of the Marvel universe… and if anyone can play with the big boys, it’s Starlord, Drax and pals.

But will it actually happen?

It’s long been rumoured that the Guardians of the Galaxy will eventually meet The Avengers on the big screen… and with Tony Stark’s deep space armour suit reportedly teased in a now-scrapped scene in ‘Iron Man 3’, it looks as though there may be plans to put them together.

If either team is going to take on the mighty Thanos – the big, bad archvillain of the Marvel universe – they’re going to need each other’s help.

But we might have to wait until ‘Infinity War’ to find out.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ heads to cinemas on 5 May 2017.
