Dave Bautista Teases Blade Runner Sequel Role

We’re used to movie stars tweeting various, cryptic things, but ‘SPECTRE’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ hard man Dave Bautista’s tweet tells us his involvement in ‘Blade Runner 2′ is very much on.

What appears a somewhat ‘arty’ black and white snap of the former WWE star pondering over an origami unicorn, anyone who’s familiar with Sir Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic ‘Blade Runner’ will be aware that this features significantly in the film that starred Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer.

His tweet, which, let’s be honest isn’t really that cryptic to fans of the film, shows an image of him and the unicorn accompanied by the sentence: ‘I can’t wait to share some really exciting news…’ So unless the actor’s taken up an intensive origami class, it’s safe to assume he’s boarded the cast for the sequel.

Currently, Denis Villeneuve’s (’Sicario’) set to direct, with Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, and Robin Wright reportedly forming the cast. The film’s scheduled for a 2018 release, but details on the project are sketchy at best.

Either way, we’re interested to see what part Bautista will have to play in the anticipated movie - the latest replicant baddie, perhaps?

‘Untitled Blade Runner Project’, as it’s known, is scheduled for a US release on 12 January, 2018.
