Anyone who’s ever watched the DVD extras on ‘The Office’ or ‘Extras’ or anything involving Ricky Gervais actually, will know the British comic is the king of corpsing on camera.
Corpsing – the act of breaking character due to unintentional laughter – is infectious, particularly when you’re working opposite something with an infectious laugh like Gervais and it can cause delays on film shoots while the actors struggle to regain composure in order to complete a take.
We hope Gervais – who wrote and directed ‘David Brent: Life on the Road’, on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download from 12 December – gave his crew a few extras days on set to account for all the takes he and his cast ruined with outbreaks of hilarity.
Watch an exclusive, never-before-seen, blooper clip from the DVD release featuring Gervais as wannabe rock star David Brent, and Diane Morgan (‘Screen Wipe’s Philomena Cunk) as his hapless PR guru Briony Jones, corpsing above.
The DVD release features over 2 hours of bonus content not seen in the cinema release, and judging by this clip, a large portion of it is probably outtakes.
