David Hasselhoff Joins The New Baywatch Movie

It’s like deja-vu all over again.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has revealed that none other than David 'The Hoff’ Hasselhoff will be jumping on board the forthcoming 'Baywatch’ movie.

He made the announcement on his Facebook page, complete with a video featuring him Face-timing with the Berlin Wall toppler.

“I WAS BORN READY!” Pleasure to officially welcome the original #BAYWATCH gangsta himself David Hasselhoff to our movie!” the hashtag happy star wrote, clearly rather excited about the whole business.

We’re honestly not sure whether or not he’s kidding about the 'r-rated Avengers meets Anchorman’ thing, however.

Hasselhoff was the anchor in the original series, playing LA County lifeguard station boss Mitch Buchannon, as well as being the show’s producer, starring alongside the likes of Pamela Anderson, Billy Warlock, Erika Eleniak and Yasmin Bleeth.

With Johnson now playing the role of Buchannon, it’s not yet known who The Hoff will play. Mitch Buchannon Sr, perhaps.

The movie is currently filming in Florida, with Johnson keeping fans well up to date with regular social media posts.

Starring alongside Johnson are Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Priyanka Chopra and Hannibal Buress.

The movie is due out in May, 2017.
