Deadpool to cameo in Logan, according to reports

UPDATE: Well that didn’t last long. Ryan Reynolds has quickly shot down this speculation, taking to Twitter to post:

‘Logan’ was already one of the most anticipated movies of 2017 thanks to its impressive trailers, but rumours that the R-rated Wolverine adventure will feature ‘Deadpool’ will no doubt increase the hype even further.

The Wrap have alleged that Ryan Reynolds has already shot an exclusive scene as Deadpool for ‘Logan’, which acted as a warm-up for ‘Deadpool 2’ director David Leitch. It’s believed that it’s a post-credits scene.

If this proves to be correct, this will be the second time that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine have appeared on screen together. Reynolds actually debuted as Deadpool in 2009’s ‘X-Men Origin: Wolverine’, but his incarnation was heavily derided for not being true to the comics.

Since then Ryan Reynolds has been fighting tooth and nail for Deadpool to return to the big-screen, which finally occurred earlier this year in a much more faithful adaptation. ‘Deadpool’ was met with huge critical acclaim, and went on to gross $783.1 million, becoming the most success instalment to the ‘X-Men’ series yet.

It also convinced 20th Century Fox to allow ‘Logan’ to be R-rated, too, and the trailers suggest that Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold had a tremendous amount of fun with this freedom.

We can expect Deadpool’s cameo to poke fun at Logan following his path, or maybe he’ll even announce that Hugh Jackman has delayed his retirement as the mutant and they’re teaming up for a crossover. One can dream.
