Decker: I'd deck Expecting female

5 April 2012

Brooklyn Decker has revealed she can't stand her character in What To Expect When You're Expecting.

The Battleship actress portrays an expectant mum of twins in the big-screen adaptation of the best-selling pregnancy manual alongside Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz.

"My character is so annoying, I hate her! I love playing her because she's so over-the-top and she's fun to play, but I hated her," she said.

"She's annoyingly perfect. I grew up in north Carolina so I knew this woman. I was like, I can play her."

Brooklyn, who plays Sam Shane in Battleship alongside Liam Neeson and Taylor Kitsch, enjoyed working with her screen husband Dennis Quaid in What To Expect.

"Our characters were completely unrealistic and heightened, and we had a ball. Our characters are so ridiculously over-the-top. That was very fun to play - it's very different from Battleship," she continued.

"Most of my stuff was with Dennis Quaid, who is an incredible actor and so much fun to work with. I play this redneck southern trophy wife, and there are a lot of human, sad, emotional storylines in that movie - a lot of humour too. There is a lot of heavy stuff in there, so we had to make sure everything was kind of light and silly.

"We just had a blast together. I was ridiculous and had a good time filming it," she added.

:: Battleship opens in cinemas on April 11.
