Dee Dee Myers to Head Warner Bros. Corporate Communications

Former White House press secretary Dee Dee Myers is heading to Warner Bros. as head of corporate communications.

Myers will join the studio in September, succeeding nine-year WB vet Susan Fleishman. Appointment was announced Wednesday by WB chief Kevin Tsujihara.

“Dee Dee brings a creative and strategic mindset to communications and public positioning. Her engaging and collaborative demeanor paired with her acute understanding of how to engage constituencies will help us strengthen our position as the leading global studio. I look forward to her becoming an integral part of our strong executive team,” Tsujihara said.

Myers comes to Warner Bros. after most recently serving as managing director of Washington, D.C.-based PR firm Glover Park. She was the first woman to serve as press secretary during the Bill Clinton’s first term in the White House. Since then she’s been a contributing editor to Vanity Fair, co-host of the CNBC talkshow “Equal Time” and she served as a consultant to the Warner Bros. TV-produced NBC drama “The West Wing.”

“Kevin has shown himself to be an original thinker and innovative leader, and Warner Bros. is the most storied studio in Hollywood. I look forward to joining the Warner Bros. team at this exciting and complex time in the entertainment industry,” Myers said.

Fleishman is exiting the company. Jim Noonan, a top PR exec at Warner Home Entertainment, will serve as interim head of communications until Myers takes her post as exec VP worldwide corporate communications and public affairs. She’s relocating to L.A. from Washington, D.C.

In a statement, Fleishman said she’d enjoyed “a great run at a wonderful company. I would like to thank everyone at Warner Bros., particularly my exceptional team, for making each day fun and rewarding.”

Here is the memo regarding Fleishman sent to WB staffers Wednesday by Tsujihara:
