Disney+ confirms June 2020 UK TV and movies releases, including Artemis Fowl and more

Disney+ has revealed which titles are set to land on the streaming platform in June.

Next month's most unmissable new addition will undoubtedly be Artemis Fowl, the eagerly anticipated movie adaptation of Eoin Colfer's book series of the same name. It's scheduled to make its debut on the platform on June 12.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, it follows the titular preteen genius after he stumbles across a world of mysteries and magical creatures while searching for his missing father. Colin Farrell, Judi Dench, Josh Gad and newcomer Ferdia Shaw star.

But that's not the only new movie in June as Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will arrive on June 5, the same day it premieres on Sky Cinema and NOW TV.

The sequel picks up five years after the first movie and sees Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) deal with the upcoming wedding of Aurora (Elle Fanning) and Prince Phillip (Harris Dickinson), and missing magical creatures from the Moors.

Elsewhere, the season finale of Be Our Chef, a new Disney-inspired cooking competition series, is set to arrive on June 5, as is the first instalment of three-parter Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian.

The weekly-released specials will offer fans a behind-the-scenes look at the popular Star Wars spin-off and feature a roundtable interviews hosted by creator Jon Favreau. Here's hoping Baby Yoda makes an appearance, eh?

Marvel's Hero Project will continue to be released every Friday, as will new instalments of It's a Dog's Life with Bill Farmer, which sees the actor who voiced canine characters Pluto and Goofy travel across the US to meet a whole host of heroic dogs.
