Disney fan spots detail in Up's heartbreaking opening that you missed
A Disney fan appears to have spotted a blink-and-you'll-miss-it detail in Up's tear-inducing opening scene that we may have missed.
The 2009 Pixar movie famously opens with an emotional sequence of events, as Carl Fredricksen's life with his soulmate Ellie is documented.
However, heartbreak hits them, as first Ellie is declared infertile, and increasing needs mean that they have to spend their savings for their dream trip to Paradise Falls. As Carl is about to surprise Ellie years later with the trip, she tragically dies.

Given the high emotions of the sequence, you'd be forgiven for missing a small detail, which was spotted by a user on Reddit.
They found that the priest that marries Carl and Ellie also appears to be the same medical character that gives Ellie the sad news that she won't be able to have children.
Many have responded to the theory, some suggesting that Pixar may have just reused the character model, while others proposed that the characters could be twins.
Up became a huge hit when it was released 14 years ago, going on to win two Oscars including Best Animated Feature.

Meanwhile, the movie's director Pete Docter, who is chief creative officer at Pixar, has reflected on the studio's most-recent movie, Lightyear, and its failure to light up the box office.
"We've done a lot of soul-searching about that because we all love the movie," he told TheWrap. "We love the characters and the premise. I think probably what we've ended on in terms of what went wrong is that we asked too much of the audience. When they hear Buzz, they're like: 'Great, where's Mr Potato Head and Woody and Rex?' And then we drop them into this science fiction film that they're like: 'What?'"
"I think there was a disconnect between what people wanted/expected and what we were giving to them."
