If you don't yet have Disney+, you've no doubt heard about the platform from other parents, friends and work colleagues - probably over and over again.

A Disney+ subscription has been a lifesaver (or at least a boredom-saver) for many during the pandemic, whether used to entertain children or simply for nostalgic escapism on a weekend.

People rave about it with good reason - the platform has hundreds of kid and family-friendly watches, from series to films; cult classics to new originals like the 2020 hit Soul (if you haven't watched it, we highly recommend, but have the tissues at the ready).

If you thought the platform was just for children - think again.

Disney+ will launch its new Star platform on 23 February, showcasing adult-orientated content (similar to Hulu or Now TV), including more than 270 films and 75 TV shows which will be available to subscribers from the first day.

Star will bring hundreds of adult-appropriate titles, including How I Met Your Mother, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Prison Break, Deadpool 2, The Devil Wears Prada, Die Hard 2 - you get the idea, the list goes on. You can see a full list of new additions here.

And the best bit?

If you join before 23 February, you can get 20% off a membership before the price increases in line with all the extra programming.

In real terms, that means you'll be paying just £5.99 a month, or £59.99 a year, instead of £7.99 a month, or £79.99 a year.

In the long run the £5.99 per month is definitely more cost effective than scrolling through subscription services next week, only to discover the film you desperately want to watch is £6.99 to rent for 24 hours. Trust us, that's happened to us a lot over the past year.

If you're anything like us, this promise of TV horizons new will have come at exactly the right time.
