Disney's new movie Wish is attracting rave reactions following its premiere.

The new animation is set to mark 100 years of the studio, and takes place in a magical kingdom where wishes come true.

Focusing on Asha (Ariana DeBose), the story sees her wishes answered by a cosmic force called Star, and alongside her talking pet goat Valentino (Alan Tudyk), the three must confront the ruler of the kingdom of Rosas, King Magnifico (Chris Pine).

Comparing it to a previous Disney hit, MovieWeb's Richard Fink said: "I got the same feeling watching Wish [as] I did seeing Frozen for the first time. It feels classically Disney that reminds you of why you fell in love with their animated classic and served as a nice tribute to the studios' 100 years. Also the best credits that made my heart soar."

Meanwhile, The Direct's Russ Milheim called Wish "a strong addition to Disney's library", adding: "I appreciated the unique animation style, and I think the music really shines. There are plenty of laughs, and Chris Pine is great as King Magnifico. Prepare to see that star everywhere."

Wish is released in cinemas on November 24.
