Arguably one of Marvel’s most intriguing and upcoming titles is the Benedict Cumberbatch-starring ‘Doctor Strange’. Its director, Scott Derrickson, has shared a brand new on-set image, getting fans a bit giddy in the process.

With anticipation high for fan fave Cumberbatch, Derrickson tweet an image of the Doctor himself, alongside Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo, which is our first proper look at the latter who is a new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film centres around Cumberbatch’s Steven Strange, the world’s leading neurosurgeon, who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the world of magic and other dimensions. With he help of mystic arts, he hopes to heal himself from his life-changing injuries.

Very few official images have been released for ‘Doctor Strange’ so far, and while there have also been some grainy on-set photos circulating, it’s nice to see Derrickson teasing us with excitement as the release date gets closer.

‘Doctor Strange’ continues the third phase of the Marvel movies after ‘Captain America: Civil War’ hits cinemas this May. While that movie introduces Black Panther and Spider-Man, this follows in the trend of bringing new characters the fray with Baron Mordo’s intro.

There’s also a fairly big collection of on-set photos available online of the pair doing a lot of running, for any fans eager to check out the Doctor in more detail.

‘Doctor Strange’ is in UK cinemas on 28 October, with ‘Captain America: Civil War’ released on 29 April.
