Down Down Baby! Tom Hanks recreates his classic rap from Big

Yep, Tom Hanks continues to be awesome.

While in Florence promoting new movie ‘Inferno’, he and director Ron Howard were interviewed by Phil and Wesley of filmmakers Wong Fu Productions.

Thanks to a misspent (or entirely well-spent, depending on your point of view) youth, Phil can still recall all the lyrics to Hanks’ schoolyard rap from the 1988 classic.

So obviously asking Hanks to pull it out was no problem at all.

Spitting the whole rhyme without missing a beat, we suspect that Hanks is still doing this in the shower on a semi-regular basis.

“’I actually stole that from my kid’s summer camp,” he then reveals.

“We needed a thing for the movie and I said ‘How about we just do this?’”

In the movie, Hanks’ Josh Baskin has to use the rhyme to persuade his best friend Billy – played by Jared Rushton – he is who he says he is, after he becomes a grown-up thanks to his wish on the Zoltar Speaks machine.

It’s not the first time in recent days that he’s revisited his classic movie.

While appearing on The Late Show, he performed a brief sketch with host Stephen Colbert donning a turban to play Zoltar himself.
