Drew Barrymore resurrected her Scream character Casey Becker for a new episode of her chatshow.

Horror hounds will recall the opening scene in Wes Craven's classic 1996 movie where Casey is stalked around her home by the killer Ghostface – resulting in her gruesome death just as her parents pull into the driveway.

Now fans get to see what she'd be up to had she survived.

Sporting the same blonde bob wig and cream-coloured sweater in the clip, Barrymore's character receives a text from Ghostface as she's strolling down the street.

"Casey, it's that time of year... where I have to kill you!!" he writes, before phoning her.

She sees the Ghostface icon appear on her screen, but she's uninterested.

He then texts her again: "Casey, come on pick up! I come in peace lol :) :) :) Stop GHOSTING me!!!"

Ahhh, it's good to see she's turned a corner...

The fifth Scream has a release date of January 14, 2022.
