‘Deadpool 2’ just got an extra pair of hands.
According to Collider, it looks as though ‘Daredevil’ creator Drew Goddard has been working on the ‘Deadpool 2’ script… but the original writers are still in the driving seat.
“Over the past few months, the original Deadpool writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, have been hard at work trying to craft the sequel,” they explained. “They even gave me an update about it in the middle of last month… but I’ve now learned someone new has been added to the mix: Drew Goddard.”
“From what I’ve been told, Reese and Wernick are still extremely involved in the script,” they added. “But Goddard has been added as a consultant.”
And Ryan Reynolds himself is keen to confirm this.

What does this mean for the upcoming ‘Deadpool’ sequel?
Well, according to Collider, everyone involved – that’s Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Drew Goddard and Ryan Reynolds – have been hunkered down, working on the script together. Clearly, they’re trying to do their best to top the phenomenal reception of the original film.
And that’s definitely a good thing.
And with Drew Goddard on board, who knows – perhaps we’ll see Deadpool kick ass in a furious, corridor-based fight scene, just like Matt Murdock. Or perhaps that’s just a bit too much to ask.
Either way, it sounds as though ‘Deadpool 2’ is heading in the right direction. And with the script reportedly almost done, we might even get a sniff of a release date sometime soon.
But for now, we have to wait and see.
